Usually the flowers of the bride’s bouquet are white as they have to be a symbol of purity.

 But nowadays more and more brides choose a bouquet that has different colors according to the bridesmaids’ dresses and the general color of the ceremony. When choosing color for the wedding bouquet, just take a sample of the dress – it will be much more easier. If you have chosen the white color it can vary in several shades too.

Another factor you have to consider when choosing the color is the style of the gown. There should be a balance between the gown and the style of the flowers. The style of the bouquet should also be similar to the bride. The gown and the flowers should be in harmony as this is her special day.

 Most of the brides wear flowers in their headdress. When using a flower the effect is really adorable. The flowers for the headdress should be in almost the same color as the bouquet and the dress.

Another thing to choose is the flowers for the grooms. Buttonholes should also be the same color as the bride’s bouquet. And all the men at the ceremony usually wear the same flowers. And the women at the ceremony wear also flowers either on their wrist or normally pinned to the dress.

There are several ways your flowers to remain long after the ceremony. They can be either dried as a whole or dismantled and made a collage with the flowers. You can also made a second bouquet from fabric flowers that is a copy of the wedding ceremony’s one.

All star signs have their specific behavior and also have flowers that are typical for them. I will try to guide you through the zodiac…

Aries – they are fire signs and that means they are passionate, enthusiastic and adventurous. Typical flowers for this sign are shrubs, red roses, tulips, red peppers, amaryllis.

Taurus – they are earth signs and this means that they are home-loving and conventional people. Their flowers are lavender, lilac, aster, lily of the valley, sweet pea.

Gemini – As an air sign they are pretty talkative and lively as well as intellectual people. The perfect flowers for them are solidago (goldenrod), acacia (mimosa, wattle), daffodil, nut-bearing trees, cactus.

Cancer – this water sign people are caring, protective and secretive too. Typical flowers for them are delphinium, ferns, plumbago, passionflower, hydrangea, iris.

Leo - extrovert people who are really faithfull and their flowers are gerbera, crocosmia, dahlia, clivia, sunflower.

Virgo - being an earth sign like Virgo means that they are practical and modest. Their flowers are chrysanthemum, eucalyptus, veronica, violet, ivy, thistle.

 Libra – an elegant and diplomatic sign who like orchid, gardenia, tea roses, tuberose, freesia, gladiolus.

Scorpio – a water sign that is sensual, determined and sometimes dangerous. They like flowers like hibiscus, peony, cactus, anthurium.

Sagittarius – people from this zodiac sign are straightforward, optimistic and playful. They prefer carnation, crocus, muscari, berried plants, allium.

Capricorn – they are hard-working, ambitious and respectable. They like philodendron, kentia palm, snowdrop, jasmine.

Aquarius - these people are in most cases forward-looking, unconventional and independent. They like banksia, protea, yucca and aloe.

Pisces – being a typical representative of the water sign Pisces are intuitive, humorous and compassionate. Their flowers are stephanotis, jasmine, lilac, narcissus, gypsophila.

The beauty of flowers has always been honored by lots of people all around the entire world. Flowers have always been poets’ inspiration for centuries. Because of that I decided to write this post, so that I can show some interesting facts and classifications of flowers.

Flowers can be classified in several categories as the following.

1.      According the position – flowers can be divided as auxillary and terminal. In the first group are mentioned flowers that are carried at the junction of the stem or axis and the leaf. The second one are flowers that arise in the end of axis or branches.

2.      According to the branches and clusters – flowers can be either a single flower or a cluster. The first one are flowers that are branch of the main axis of the plant, whether the second group are flowers that gathered together when growing look like a cluster.

3.      According to the blossom – these flowers are annual and biennial. Annual flowers are a better option as a whole because they come in different varieties and can even endure frost sometimes. Biennial flowers don’t blossom during the whole season and because of that they are not suitable for people who prefer a landscape full of blossom.

You can choose from different types of colourful and beautiful flowers. Everything depends on your inspiration and willingness to look after them.

Planting a flower may sound as a really easy job, but when you think over it, it is not so simple…

There are several facts that we have to think about before planting a flower and the main of them is the place where we have to plant it. If they are planted in the right place, they will grow properly. Requirements like soil and light are very important and need to be mentioned too.

I will try to divide the plants in two categories – plants that grow in shady places ad those that like sunny places.

There are different types of flowers that should be grown in shady places. They can be divided in the following categories – shade plants and plants for dry shade.

A plant that can be considered as shade plant is the dogwood tree. This tree is very famous when landscaping is concerned and has several typical preferences. It should be planted in the shade as it prefers to be grown in a cool place.

If you have dry shade in your garden and you prefer to grow plants there you have to consider some other preferences like lack of water and obviously lack of sunlight. For example you can try to cultivate Hosta plants, Liriope Spicata, and Foxglove Plants also.

Nevertheless, there are flowers that like sunny places. You have to be very careful when choosing these plants because if you have mistaken those for plants that like shady places it will be  a fill disaster. Plants that like sunny places usually need lots of water and much more cares.

Flowers are everywhere around us – in our house, in the office, at the balcony and of course in the park. They are being grown because of their colourful blossom, leaves and the coziness that they bring to every home.

There are lots of beliefs about the colour of the flower and it meaning. When there is a person in the house who has blood problems, he should cultivate flowers with red blossom. The red colour has magic power that brings up the nerves system, it is thought to be the most active colour. For example the light red is exciting, the dark red is confident and serious.  The red colour as a whole is the symbol of blood, love, passion, freedom and celebration also.

The yellow colour is warm, sunny, lively and light. It is a symbol of life, light, delight, splendor and admiration to older people. When yellow is too bright the symbol is pretty different – envy, willfulness, insatiableness, ability to lie.

The orange colour is warm and joyful. It is a symbol of friendship, magnificence, dignity and luxury too.

The blue colour is quiet and also hard, cool, but full of energy. Light blue is  pure and clear. It is a symbol of hope, faithfulness, loyalty, trust, peace and infinity.

The green colour is calming, peaceful and passive. The light green is lively and happy whether the dark green is reserved.

And the white colour… This colour is neutral, and is really contrasting the other colours. When this colour is among the others it brings light and liveliness. It is a symbol of  purity and innocence, as much as chastity.

For example when someone from your relatives is desperate he should cultivate blue flowers. Blue colours are thought to be pieces of the sky, left on earth…

The decoration with dried flowers is extremely popular because their outlook is even better than artificial flowers and last longer too. Dried flowers are material that in spite of being dried it has the qualities of fresh flowers.

There are several ways of drying flowers. When you have decided that you will start drying you have to choose only the best flowers, leaves and fruits. They should be whole and solid, and should not be picked if the weather is humid or if it is raining.

These are some of the easiest and useful types of drying flowers:

-         Drying flowers only thank to air – it is the easiest and simple one. You have to find a place in your house that is dry, dark, cool and ventilated. The most important about this type of drying is that the flowers need enough place so that the fresh air can circulate around them.

-         Artificial drying – it is a popular one and is done thanks to some of the following materials - sand, steamer , glycerin, and even an oven.

-         Drying with glycerin – it is very suitable only for conserving leaves. It is very easy to be done – one part glycerin with two parts water and put a twig in this mixture, leave it there for about a month. You will be very pleasured with the result.

-         Drying in an oven – the flower should be sanded and put in the hot oven for maximum a minute. The time of drying depends on the type of flower.

-         Drying with an iron -  place on the ironing board several sheets of paper, then put the flower on it and finally put again some sheets of paper. This is a fast and really easy way to dry different types of leaves and flowers.

You can use your imagination when drying and conserving flowers is conserved. Afterwards you can decorate your house the best way you like…

At first the flower Rose was mentioned in the ancient Indian legends, which tall us about the respect considered to this adorable flower… There were even a law which said that whoever brings a Rose to the Ruler of the country, can ask him for whatever he likes. At that time you could pay your bills and taxes with a rose…As the Persians say, the rose appeared to be a gift from God, who gave the white rose with spins so that, that entire flower became superior of all other flowers …

The first sayings about the Tulip are coming from ancient Persia. In Persian the meaning of flower is Tulip. Since then it’s the most wanted name for a woman in Iran.  For example, the most beautiful street in modern Teheran is named ‘Tulip zar’.

At first, the Persians the tulip was the symbol of love and perfect love. For my  great surprise another country, but not Holland, adore this flower – Turkey. Each year there was a celebration named for this flower and this was done because of the great respect to the Sultan and all his wives.

In 1544 the Tulip appeared in Europe thanks to the Germany ambassador, who brought the flower from his visit in Turkey. Afterwards, the tulip became very popular and even some of the tradesman from Venice began to import more and more bulbs from Turkey. Among the most ranked addicts of the tulip were the Austrian Emperor - Franz the second, the French king Ludovick XVIII, Volter and Cardinal Reshelo.  

But in Holland the enthusiasm concerning the tulip easily became so passionate that thousands of gardeners founds new colours of the tulip, new sorts, etc.. More of the founded variety were named after famous people and cities. For instance, when one bulb of the sort ‘Senper Augustus’ was sold for a price of 13 000 guldens, which for the time people were living in was a whole fortune. Up to now there are about 4000 varieties found for this special and beautiful flower. The varieties differ from 20 to 70 cm at height and they usually come out from March to May.

Flowers are one of the things that can bring in everyone the feeling of happiness.

We usually give each other flowers when there is a special occasion, but why not giving flower just to make someone happy?And here is the question – which is the right flower? Is it a Rose, Daffodile, Carnation, Gladiolus, Orchid, Tulip or Sunflower …

Using flowers we can easily express our feelings such as friendship or love. Flowers are usually used to pass messages to the person we give them. Although each flower can have different meaning it is not a particular one, because all around the world the message that every flower brings is not exact.

 For example, Roses are usually presenting people’s love.. but not always. Here we can mention the color of the flower. The red rose usually express entire love, the white one shows people’s friendship as much as the yellow and also the orange one. White roses and as a whole the white flowers show the meaning of something pure – like a wedding can be.

The Daffodile usually shows regard and respect, but also can mean that you are the only one person who is in love with yourself. This flower also shows Unrequited Love. But it is beautiful, isn’t it?

Moreover, a common flower which is gived to everyone is the carnation. The white carnation means pure love, innocence and sweetness and loveliness. The yellow one shows disappointment and refusement as well. When you look at the pink one it says – I will never forget you.The Gladiolus is the flower of the Gladiators. When we look at it, it shows sincerity and the power of gladiators.

The flower of Holland – the tulip can mean couple of things again depending on the color. When we give someone a white tulip it can mean that they have beautiful eyes. However the red tulip shows love, as the red rose does. And last but not least, the yellow tulip can easily be concerned as a sunshine flower, having the color of the sun…

Another adorable flower is the Orchid. It can easily show beauty, refinement, and also maturity as well as charm..

The meaning of flowers is a large subject which we can write lots of pages about… But the one and only thing is that when we give flowers to someone, we should give them with a smile and the bouquet should present only pure feelings that come straight from the heart…
