Red Salvia Flowers

The red salvia plants are well-known as Salvia. It is officially known by the name of “scarlet sage,” many people refer to the plants simply as “red salvia”.

This is an annual flower coming originally from Brazil.  This is the reason because it cannot stand cold winter days. Scarlet varieties are best known in red color, but also Salvia does come in other colors, including white, salmon, pink, purple, lavender, burgundy and orange.

The Salvia flower reaches 18″-30″ in height. It grows on spikes and its flowers are quite showy.  If you want to have the best Salvia flowers please grow them in a sunny place and area as a whole.

Furthermore, if you want to have an encourage age better flowering, you have to throw deadhead red salvia plants. This should be doneby pinching off the flower spikes. Make your pinch fairly far down on their stems. Be careful because lots of snails, slugs and whitefly may bother red salvia plants.

Red salvia can form a border when massed together as bedding plants. Nevertheless, they are popular in container gardens, where they can serve as a vertical accent and wonderful view. When they are growm together with geraniums and impatiens, they are the first flowers that come to mind for many folks when using annuals to have a splash of red fragrance into the landscape…
