The so called impatient flowers…

There are many kinds of impatient flowers. They are classified as one of the more popular groups of impatiens flowers as Impatiens walleriana. One of the most common names for impatiens flowers is “Busy Lizzy”.

At first these types of flowers were commonly sold in nurseries in North America. They should be treated as annual plants. They are native to tropical Africa and easily damaged by frosts and cold winter days

.These plants are pretty short plants, and are high not more than 1 foot. Some of the variety of these flowers, such as the ‘Super Elfin’ , stay much shorter. Impatiens flowers come in different colors such as white, red, pink, violet, coral and purple. Recently it was developed a yellow cultivar.

These flowers should be grown in soil that is full of humus and can even thrive in shade areas. Although being known as sunny flowers as a whole. If they start looking leggy in the end of the summer just trim off the top third of their vegetation. This will promote the emergence of new impatiens flowers and can make the plants look better.

The name of the flowers came from the Latin word that means impatient. They were named like this because they can flower even from a light touch and their blossom comes out.
